FAQ

There are often a lot of unknowns when considering trying a new healing modality, clinic, or practitioner. Below you'll find answers to the most-asked questions about Energy Healing & OCEH.

What is Reiki & Energy Healing?

The practice of energy healing has been around for centuries in cultures all over the world. Energy Healing is a technique operating off the premise that our bodies have energy centres, energy flows through these centres, and that healing can come from helping to balance the energy's flow.

REIKI =  Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life force energy."

What conditions or ailments can Energy Healing help with?

Energy Healing can be used to help with many different conditions or ailments. Treatments only have positive side effects (ex. aiding with meditation & strengthening your immune system). Energy Healing is a beautiful compliment to Western Medicine.

The most common conditions individuals seek support through Energy Healing for are:

Stress Management

Anxiety

Fear

Trauma

Digestion Issues

Infertility

Chronic Pain

Depression

Cancer

Poor Emotional State & Triggers

Healing of Wounds or Injuries

Autoimmune

Inflammation

& More!

IMPORTANT:
Reiki & Energy Healing is not meant to diagnosis or replace Western Medicine or advice from your medical team or doctor(s).

I am new to Energy Healing. What can I expect?

The experience of Reiki & Energy Healing is often very subtle.

During the treatment you may become aware of your body's temperature changing, mild sensations in your body such as tingling or other feelings on your skin, you may see different visuals when your eyes are closed, random thoughts may enter your mind, a range of emotions may wash over you, the recalling of memories, and more. A larger number of people also report entering a different state of consciousness, simultaneously aware of their surroundings but deeply indrawn. These are all considered normal occurrences during a treatment.

After the treatment has finished and for the days following, you may feel a deep sense of peace and the release of stress, less pain in your body, better sleep and digestion, feeling more centred and less triggered/reactive, increased energy, & an overall sense of well-being.

Energy Healing & Reiki treatments are cumulative. People who don't notice much during or after the first treatment usually have progressively deeper experiences if they continue receiving regular treatments.

Is there anything I need to bring with me to my treatment?

Everything needed for your treatment will be provided. If you would like to bring a comfort item with you such as a special pillow, blanket, or crystal you are more than welcome to do so.

Does OCEH treat children?

We do not treat children 13 years-old or younger. We welcome teenagers from the ages of 14 to 17 years-old for treatments at OCEH’s Main Clinic but require a guardian or parent to sign a consent form beforehand. Due to the main clinic’s limited size, we cannot allow parents or guardians to sit inside the treatment space with their teenager during the treatment. Parents and guardians should be prepared to stay in their car, wait outside, or come back at the end of the treatment to pick up their teenager or confirm that the teenager has a safe ride/plan for getting home. We consider individuals who are 18 years-old and older adults.

Will I receive a receipt?

If you would like a receipt, please request one at the time of your treatment. Receipts are issued directly by the practitioner offering the treatment.

Is Energy Healing Covered under OHIP or private insurance plans?

Sadly, OHIP does not cover reiki or energy healing (this being another reason we wanted to make energy healing services more affordable). Some private insurance plans or places of employment offer wellness benefits which you may be able to receive coverage through. Please check with your private insurance company or employer to confirm if you have coverage.

What if I am running late?

Lateness is something that happens sometimes regardless of our best intentions. If you know you will be late, please reach out to us so we know when we can expect you. Latecomers may need to have their treatment cut short on days where we are seeing clients back-to-back. Thank you for your understanding!

I know someone who is interested in booking a treatment.
May I book an appointment on their behalf?

We kindly ask that you do not book an appointment on behalf of someone else.
We require the full consent of the individual coming to receive treatment and this includes having them book their own appointment. Booking a treatment on behalf of someone else can disrupt the energy of the clinic and the flow of treatments.

Thank you for your cooperation & understanding!

Where is the clinic located?

Nepean, Ottawa in the Arlington Woods neighbourhood - Closest major intersection is Greenbank & Huntclub. The exact address and parking instructions will be emailed to you prior to your first appointment along with an Intake & Consent Form to submit online.
